This chess set includes our Parker Series chess pieces handcrafted from golden rosewood and boxwood matched with our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board. Our Parker Staunton is a throwback to the vintage Staunton chess set patterns from over a hundred years ago. The Parker embodies the rich history of Staunton with traditional design elements in every respect from pawn to king. The knight is masterfully carved with shape, features, and detail reminiscent of past chess set masterpieces. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The golden rosewood and boxwood pieces are polished to a lustrous shine. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.375", the perfect size for casual chess games at home. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacturer so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battlefield for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a matte polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide and colorful burl wood delimiter accentuates the playing field while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 1.75" and the footprint of the board is 19.5" square.
