This chess set is the same one used by the legendary American Grandmaster Bobby Fischer when he beat reigning world champion and Grandmaster Boris Spassky in the 1972 World Chess Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland. These are boxwood pieces with a unique decorative design carved into each piece and a high gloss lacquer finish. The pieces are heavily weighted for superior balance and stability on the chess board.
