Maj. Hagerstrom known as "Mig Poison" piloted this particular aircraft which belonged to the 67th Fighter-Bomber Squadron (FBS) of the 18th Fighter-Bomber Group (FBG). The Sabre played a pivotal role in the conflict engaging in intense dogfights with enemy MiG-15s over the skies of Korea. Maj. Hagerstroms F-86F adorned with its distinctive markings and nickname became synonymous with the Sabres success in aerial combat as it shot down numerous enemy aircraft during its service in the Korean War.Operating from bases in South Korea Maj. Hagerstrom and his fellow Sabre pilots faced off against the skilled Soviet and Chinese pilots flying the MiG-15 the primary adversary of the F-86F.
