The P-47 Thunderbolt affectionately known as the "Jug" was one of the heaviest and most durable fighters of its era with a reputation for being a robust aircraft that could sustain significant damage and still bring its pilot home. "Dottie Mae" served in the European Theater of Operations and was involved in several critical missions across France and Germany."Dottie Mae" was instrumental in providing close air support during the Normandy invasion D-Day and the subsequent breakout operations.
