The simple and handsome design is unencumbered by fine detail making it perfect for tournament chess play. The pieces are made from golden rosewood and boxwood and have a traditional polished lacquer finish. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.5". The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and allow pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board.
