The knights make this chess set with their intricate detail including eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and mane that creates a fierce countenance for which this set is named. The pieces have a graceful profile and a tapered base design that further enhances the overall look. The golden rosewood and boxwood pieces are polished to a beautiful luster and they go perfect with the walnut chess box. The king is tall with an extra wide base of 1.75", an excellent size for casual games at home with family and friends and large enough to be left out for décor in the home. The pieces have thick green baize pads so they slide smoothly across the chess board and are heavily weighted for stability. Whether you are a casual chess player, collector, or buying a special gift for someone, this chess set is a tremendous value and an excellent choice that will be treasured forever.Our walnut chess box is perfect for storing your golden rosewood and boxwood chessmen - they look great together!
