This beautiful handcrafted chess set includes our Fierce Knight Staunton with genuine ebony and boxwood pieces matched with our Deluxe Two Drawer Black and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case. Our Fierce Knight is a blend of contemporary and traditional Staunton design featuring knights that are carved with realistic features. The perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.5". The pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and have thick green baize pads for easily sliding from square to square and a soft feel when placing. We include 2 spare queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made.Our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case is the ideal choice for combining a chess board with a way for storing pieces when you are not playing a game. This exterior of the case is made from solid poplar with an elegant molded edge design that incorporates a graceful curve and a three row beaded section at the top. The chess board is made from black stained poplar and bird's-eye maple veneer and has a decorative mahogany inlaid border to delineate the playing area. There are two drawers, one on each player's side that completely pull out to make it easy to put pieces away or take them back out.
