The pieces have an elegant profile and the knight is beautifully sculpted with fine detail. The obsidian black ebony and natural color of the boxwood chess pieces go perfect with the walnut and maple chess board. This is a large set with a tall king and a base diameter of 1.875". The pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and have thick green baize pads for easily sliding from square to square and a soft feel when placing down. Our Mahogany and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battle field for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality mahogany and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide black delimiter accentuates the playing field and enhances the rich color of the mahogany while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 2.125" and the footprint of the board is 21.5" square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.Our Classic Mahogany Chess Box is wonderfully constructed and reminiscent of the old heirloom quality boxes from years ago.
