Handcrafted by the skilled artisans at Manopoulos in Athens Greece, this luxurious chess set is based on the Greek god Poseidon and goddess Athena. This complete chess set includes the Greek Mythology pieces with a chess cast that has a chess board on top and individual compartments inside to safely store each piece. These pieces are large and masterfully designed and sculpted with fine detail to capture the essence of the characters portrayed in this chess set. The pieces are die cast solid zinc with brass and nickel plating that gives the pieces a shiny gold and silver look. The final step is a varnish finish to protect the pieces from ever tarnishing.The chess board is built into the top of the case and made from a sheet of brass with each square delineated by a raised edge. The frame and black squares are painted a deep multicolor emerald green that looks absolutely stunning. Be sure to watch the video to see how it's done.
