This chess set includes our German Knight Plastic Chess Set with black and aged ivory pieces matched with a mahogany and sycamore notated chess board. This is the plastic version of the most popular wood chess set in our collection - The German Knight Staunton. The German Knight is a favorite for club players and used more than any other set in tournaments. The black and aged ivory pieces are made from a glossy plastic and will withstand the rigors of regular play for a lifetime. This is a large set with a 3.9" tall king and a base diameter of 1.7". The pieces are nicely weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and we include 2 extra queens for pawn promotion.This beautiful chess board comes from Sunrise Chess and Games in Poland and is an excellent choice for matching with black and ivory color chess pieces. This is a handcrafted inlaid chess board made from premium quality mahogany and sycamore veneer. The craftsmanship of the inlay work is superb. Alpha-Numeric notation on the rank and file make it a great choice for club and tournament games to help with recording moves. The squares are 2" and the overall size of the board is 21.25" and .5" thick. The board is finished in a polyurethane matte finish to seal and protect the wood while enhancing the natural colors.
