This beautiful handcrafted chess set includes our German Knight Staunton with ebonized and natural boxwood pieces matched with our Olive Wood and Black Deluxe Chess Board. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.5", an excellent size for tournament play or the game at home. Pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads on the bottom for a soft cushion and allow pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board. The rich honey-orange color of our Deluxe Olive Wood and Black Poplar chess board makes a wonderful backdrop against the black ebonized and cream-colored boxwood pieces. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from the finest veneers and sealed with matte polyurethane finish to protect the wood. The precision of the inlay work is remarkable.
