These are ebonized and natural boxwood pieces with a traditional polished lacquer finish and are heavily weighted for superior balance and stability on the chess board. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.625", the perfect size for tournament chess games. Thick green billiard cloth pads let the pieces slide smoothly across the chess board and a quite soft feel when sitting down.
