This theme chess set includes the Civil War II hand painted theme chess pieces matched with our Civil War Deluxe Chess Board. This chess set is based on the war between the Union and Confederacy from 1861 to 1865. The kings are represented by Presidents Lincoln and Jefferson Davis with their wives representing the queens. The bishops are General Ulysses S. Grant and General Robert E. Lee, the knights are calvary, and the pawns foot soldiers. The rooks are represented by the flags of the Union and Confederacy. The pieces are cast in solid polystone, an extremely hard, stone-like material, and are hand painted in realistic colors by highly skilled artisans with amazing detail.Our exclusive Civil Ward Deluxe Chess Board is made for us by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain, the largest manufacturer of high-quality chess boards in the world. This is an inlaid chess board made from the finest veneers sealed with a high gloss polyurethane finish to protect and enhance the beauty of the wood. The precision of the inlay work is remarkable.
