This exquisite handcrafted chess set includes our Fierce Knight Staunton with ebonized and boxwood pieces matched with our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board. The Fierce Knight is a blend of contemporary and traditional Staunton design featuring knights that are carved with realistic features. The perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. Our ebonized chess pieces are beautifully produced and look nearly identical to real ebony at less than half the price. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.5". The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and have thick green baize pads for easily sliding from square to square and a soft feel when placing. We include 2 spare queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made.Our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board offers a luxurious back drop for these special chess pieces. Handcrafted from premium veneer, this chess board highlights the deep, rich hues of the walnut burl contrasted with the golden tones of the bird's-eye maple. The squares are surrounded with a wide black delimiter and a black border on the outside accentuates the bird's-eye maple frame.
