Unencumbered by fine detail, these chess pieces will stand up to the rigor of regular use year after year. This is a regulation size set with a king and a 1.5 diameter base, the ideal size for tournament play or the game at home. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green billiard cloth pads for a soft landing on the chess board. We include two extra queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of identification so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, the year it was made and the type of wood.Our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case is the ideal choice for combining a chess board with a way for storing pieces when you are not playing a game. This exterior of the case is made from solid poplar with an elegant molded edge design that incorporates a graceful curve and a three row beaded section at the top. The chess board is made from black stained poplar and bird's-eye maple veneer and has a decorative mahogany inlaid border to delineate the playing area.
