This attractive handcrafted chess set includes our German Knight with ebonized and boxwood pieces matched with our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case. Simple is often best and our German Knight with its simple and attractive design is the ideal set for your everyday chess game. Unencumbered by fine detail, these chess pieces will stand up to the rigor of regular use year after year. This is a regulation size set with a king and a 1.5 diameter base, the ideal size for tournament play or the game at home. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green billiard cloth pads for a soft landing on the chess board. We include two extra queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of identification so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, the year it was made and the type of wood.Our Deluxe Two-Drawer Black & Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Case is the ideal choice for combining a chess board with a way for storing pieces when you are not playing a game. This exterior of the case is made from solid poplar with an elegant molded edge design that incorporates a graceful curve and a three row beaded section at the top. The chess board is made from black stained poplar and bird's-eye maple veneer and has a decorative mahogany inlaid border to delineate the playing area. There are two drawers, one on each player's side that completely pull out to make it easy to put pieces away or take them back out.
