This handsome handcrafted chess set includes our Parker Series with golden rosewood and boxwood pieces matched with our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board. The Parker is one our exclusive designs with an old classic Staunton look and a handsome knight reminiscent of an older Jacque's set. This is a regulation size set with a 3.75" tall king and a 1.625" base. The pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion.Our Walnut Burl and Bird's-Eye Maple Chess Board offers a luxurious back drop for these special chess pieces. Handcrafted from premium veneer, this chess board highlights the deep, rich hues of the walnut burl contrasted with the golden tones of the bird's-eye maple. The squares are surrounded with a wide black delimiter and a black border on the outside accentuates the bird's-eye maple frame. A semi-gloss polyurethane finish both protects and enhances the color of the wood. The squares are 1.75" with an overall footprint of 17.5".
