The knights are wonderfully carved with just the right level of detail for a chess set that will get a lot of use. The golden rosewood has rich golden-brown colors and a beautiful grain while the cream colored natural boxwood is the perfect wood for the white chess pieces. The pieces are hand polished and lacquered to a beautiful luster. The king is tall and has a base diameter of 1.625" - an ideal tournament size set. The pieces are heavily weighted and have thick green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board. We include 2 spare queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made.
