This beautiful European chess set combines Italfama's Solid Brass Contemporary Staunton chess pieces from Italy with Rechapados Ferrer's Blue Ash Burl and Whitened Bird's Eye Maple chess board from Spain. This elegant design a contemporary Staunton-esque look with a mix of more traditional features. This is small set with a 3" tall king though large enough and perfectly suitable for the game of chess at home. The white pieces are nickel plated and the pieces have the red silver stamped Italfama logo on the bottom.The blue ash burl and erable chess board creates a stunning backdrop against the bright gold and silver color of the brass and nickel plated chess pieces. The natural wood grain of the ash burl creates a range of rich blue colors that softly swirl and intermingle creating unique and colorful patterns.
