This unique chess set with plastic pieces that look like real wood is modeled after the most popular wood chess set in our collection - The German Knight Staunton. These pieces look and feel like real wood but they're plastic! The German Knight is a favorite for club players and used more than any other set in tournaments. The king is 3.9" tall and has a base diameter of 1.7". The pieces are nicely weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and we include 2 extra queens for pawn promotion.Our Deluxe Carry-All Tournament Chess Bag is thoughtfully designed for holding everything the chess player needs and makes it easy to carry to the next game. The bag is made of an attractive and heavy nylon material that is durable and will withstand the wear of travel for many years. The bag has both a handle and a detachable shoulder strap for convenient carrying and a double zipper that opens the bag on three sides to make it easy to get things out. Inside there are two zippered compartments for holding the black and white pieces separately and a spacious zippered compartment in the middle that will hold the largest chess clock. There are 2 elastic straps for holding a rollup chess board in place and a pocket goes the full length of the bag for scorebooks and other items.The lightweight floppy chess board combines the benefit of a flexible rubber backed mousepad board with the thinness of vinyl or silicone chess board.
