Our Parker Staunton is a throwback to the vintage Staunton chess set patterns from over a hundred years ago. The Parker embodies the rich history of Staunton with traditional design elements in every respect from pawn to king. The knight is masterfully carved with shape, features, and detail reminiscent of past chess set masterpieces. This is a thirty-four-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The golden rosewood and boxwood pieces are polished to a lustrous shine. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.375", the perfect size for casual chess games at home. Heavily weighted for exceptional stability, the pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board.
