This chess set includes our German Knight Plastic Chess Set with realistic wood grain pieces matched with a mahogany and sycamore notated chess board. This unique chess set with plastic pieces that look like real wood is modeled after the most popular wood chess set in our collection - The German Knight Staunton. These pieces look and feel like real wood but they're plastic! The German Knight is a favorite for club players and used more than any other set in tournaments. This is one plastic set and is one plastic set that will look good with a wood board. The king is 3.9" tall and has a base diameter of 1.7". The pieces are nicely weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and we include 2 extra queens for pawn promotion. This beautiful chess board comes from Sunrise Chess and Games in Poland and is an excellent choice for matching with black and ivory color chess pieces. This is a handcrafted inlaid chess board made from premium quality mahogany and sycamore veneer. The craftsmanship of the inlay work is superb. Alpha-Numeric notation on the rank and file make it a great choice for club and tournament games to help with recording moves. The squares are 2.25" and the overall size of the board is 21.25" and .5" thick. The board is finished in a polyurethane matte finish to seal and protect the wood while enhancing the natural colors. There are corner felt pads on the bottom of the board to protect whatever surface it sets on.
